Oldies but Goodies

This weekend I went home for a couple of days and I felt very lucky to be able to drive one of the nicest cars, in my opinion, in the world. My dad just purchased this car from someone at the Auburn Auction in Auburn, Indiana. It may not be brand new, but to me its an all new experience. Its the 1969 RS/SS Chevrolet Camaro. It is the sharpest car I have ever seen.

It is black with white racing stripes and the paint is perfect. This car is a beauty because of the nice paint and the great, muscular lines of the body of the car. Some people like to say the lines of the car are sexy. There is no doubt that someone wouldn't say something like that about this car. The headlights in the front look so mean and are covered by shutters when they are not turned on. The appearance is one of the best parts of this car.

Don't get me wrong though, the other aspect of the car, the engine, is also a main factor of these old muscle cars. The sound of these cars is the main attraction. It turns heads, even in idle it sounds "bad-ass". That deep tone that comes forth when accelerating just gives me the chills. When I drove it this weekend, the 350 horse big block rumbled and kept people staring. There were so many looks flashing my way, not to look at me but to look at the car.

There is only one problem with these older cars. There is always some fixing up that you have to do. For example, the turn signal stays on which is annoying to other drivers, the horn doesn't work, the windows don't crank up; just a lot of small things. The only thing that was killing me was there was no radio in it. the speakers are all in there but there is no deck. All these small things add up, but personally I couldn't care less. Who needs music when you can just listen to the engine "purr"? Who needs the windows to go up when you can just out the top down? All these little things don't matter to the car fanatic and the lovers of the old muscle cars.

Sleepers

Sleepers are a concept that are pretty well known to street racers. The idea of a sleeper is a car that doesn't fast, but suprises everyone when it pulls off the line. Sleepers can be something bought or built, it doesnt matter. A common bought sleeper would be a Volvo or a VW. These companys make a lot of their consumer cars twin or single turbo which usually gives them around 250-350 horsepower. Thats not enough to go out and start challenging hardcore street racers or anything, but enough to suprise the average driver. Another example of a sleeper would be one that you build. For projects like this, a lot of drivers pick cars like Honda Civics. Civics are built on extremly light frames and if you drop in a si motor (the motor from the civic-si) and turbo it, you have a seriuos race car on your hands. I've seen civics that can produce 450 horsepower which is a monster amount for such a tiny car. Serious builders can easily tune these machines to run the quarter mile in the 11 second area, and it's not all the expensive to do. Compared to the cars it could beat, turboing a Civic is extremely cheap. The idea of a sleeper is one that has fascinated street racers for a long time and it shows that being loud and flashy isn't always everything. The next time you pull up on a car that looks like its about ready to fall apart, be prepared for it to shock you with some serious speed.

The SRT series: Part 2

One of my favorite SRT models is the Dodge Charger. The Charger is a viscous looking car that shares an engine with its SRT8 counterpart, the Grand Cherokee Jeep. The SRT8 Charger is a Rear Wheel Drive sports car with 425 hp to the wheels. The Charger sports an intimidating hood scoop and a very forward stance that makes it look like its ready to take off at any second. The Charger is also not very expensive... with the SRT8 model starting at $38,000. The Charger gets to 60 miles per hour in just over five seconds, a hair slower then the SRT8 Jeep, however they share a similar sub-14 second quarter mile time. The SRT8 Charger isn't really a supercar, but you can't beat the price and the power from this performance vehicle.

One of the classic american built supercars is the Dodge Viper. The Viper represents what is really the American stake in the supercar game. For years the Viper has been competetive with foreign made cars like Ferraris and Porsches. The 2009 Dodge SRT10 Viper packs a 8.4 liter V10 engine that gives it 600 horsepower. This gives the Viper a 0-60 time of around 3.7 seconds which is ridiculously fast and a 11.7 quarter mile time. Driving a car like the Viper really takes some skill because of the amount of tourque an engine like that produces. If your not used to driving cars like that, its an absolute shock the first time you get into the drivers seat and feel the responsiveness of a vehicle with three times the power of a normal car. The SRT10 Viper is a great choice for someone looking to buy a domestic supercar and at the same time, spend under $100,000. The fuel economy of this sports car isn't bad, with 13 mpg city and 22 highway however Vipers aren't made to be comfortable for cross country trips so I don't recommend it...

Another classic American idea is the concept of a sport-truck. Dodge took this idea and ran with it, producing a SRT10 version of their 1500 Ram with a 8.3 liter V10 engine. The truck comes in two styles; a two door, and a quad cab version incase you need to haul 2 by 4's and 5 people at over 100 mph... The SRT10 truck has 500 horsepower and produces 525 foot-pounds of tourque. The only real competition in the sport-truck category for the SRT10 Ram is the Ford SVT lightning, however the lightning only produces 380 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of tourque. The SRT10 truck is at the top of its small class of performance trucks.

Top 10 Funny/Strange/Cool Car Pics of the Week (9/29/08)

This week I have compiled a list of the top 10 funny/strange/cool car, or something that relates to cars, pictures. Some of them are funny while others are interesting. Here we go:

10. Ice Sculpture of Chevy Camaro

This is an ice sculpture of a Chevy Camaro that was made for the Canadian Interantional Auto Show. Pretty cool, eh?

9. Smart Car Vending Machine

I'm not joking either. This is an actual Smart Car vending machine found at an auto show recently. You decide if you want a coupe or cabrio (open top), color, engine, etc. The machine then gives you a capule filled with all your information about the car. You then take this capsule to the dealership and let them do the rest.

8. Solar Powered Car

This is, I think, the first solar powered car that actually appears similar to a car that we are used to seeing on the road. All of the other ones I have seen look like a piece of paper with wheels and a little space a driver who is about the size of let's say a toddler.

7. Pimped Out Dump Truck

This has got to be the coolest dump truck I have ever seen. Obviously it's fake but how cool would that be? Does anyone want to guess how big those rims are?

6. Ferrari Station Wagon

Say it isn't so! Now, I'm not one to complain, but why would Ferrari ruin their reputation like this. Ferrari is known for its sports cars so why would they do this? This one was spotted somewhere in London.

5. Engine Themed Grill

I thought it would be cool if when you stepped on a pedal, at the base of the grill, flames would shoot out of the exhaust pipes and a loud, roaring engine sound would be heard. When you opened it up, you would get grilled to perfection burgers.

4. A Tent? A Car? A Car Cover?

If you guessed all three, you're wrong. This weird looking contraption is a tent that looks similar to a car. It was created so that people could camp out inside the city without being bothered. When I first saw this picture, I thought it was just a cool looking car cover, but this is actually a pretty nifty idea if you ask me.

3. Car in a Bubble

Now you can really put a "force field" around your top prized cars. This device allows you to store any car you want in, literally, a bubble! Blow it up, put your car in, and never let your wife cause you weeks of repair again.

2. Ferrari Limo

Forget about the Hummer Limos, Ferrari limos are the new way to go. This beast can go 0-60 mph in a little less than 6 seconds!

1. A Dirty Car Genius

Can you say WOW! This guy used an extremely dirty vehicle as his canvas, drawing a woman on the rear window. It looks like he uses his fingers and a small stick for the details.

The SRT Series: Part one

This post is part one of a series I am going to write about the SRT versions of several Dodge, and Jeep vehicles there are out there. These auto-makers took regular models that they produced and began releasing performance versions into production. The great thing about these cars and trucks is that they're not all that expensive, but they provide a rush of speed that an exotic sports car would.

This post highlights the SRT8 Jeep Cherokee. Jeep traditionally makes rugged, well tested vehicles that can handle the roads under any condition. In the case of the SRT8 Cherokee it can do that at 100 mph if need be. The base model for the Cherokee is the "Laredo" features a 3.7 liter V6 engine that you would expect out of a Jeep. However the SRT8 version packs a 6.1 liter Hemi V8 that puts down 425 horsepower to the wheels. The SRT8 Cherokee will get you to 60 mph in under five seconds with no trouble at all. It is supported by a sport-tuned suspension and has four-wheel drive just incase you decide to take it off road. The SRT8 Cherokee is outfitted with 20 inch rims that set it apart from other Cherokees and let drivers on the road know your driving something special. The SRT8 Grand Cherokee is a great way to experience some real speed and also embarrass unsuspecting drivers at a redlight.

This is a video of the SRT8 Jeep smoking a Corvette at the drag strip.

SSC Ultimate Aero

The significantly new SSC Ultimate Aero ranked in as the fastest car in the world and broke the Guinness World record as the fastest car. If you read the "Top 10 Fastest Cars" blog on our page then you have seen a few of the specs for this car. There is so much more to this car. Why is there no power steering? Why are there no anti-lock breaks, ABS? These questions are answered by one statement. They wanted to keep the car a super sports car, a race car. This car holds the record at 256.15 mph. This was under Guinness's watch and one of the drivers says that on a different road with more time to accelerate, the Ultimate Aero could break 260 mph easily. There are plenty of videos and full specs on SSC's official webstite.

This car's appearance is all about looking like a race car and bring the feel of a fast sports car. The Bugatti Veyron, on the other hand, is more of a luxury car. It has all the attributes of a Cadillac or any other luxury car, but adds more power under the hood. Not enough power and speed to defeat the SSC Ultimate Aero. At a car show, the owner of Bugatti came over to the Ultimate Aero owner and managers and said lets actually see which one is faster. They ended up blocking off the interstate and let the cars go. The SSC Ultimate Aero was definitely faster than the Bugatti Veyron. It pulled a car length away in each gear.

The butterfly doors and the ground effects are so sweet. This car really shows the epitome of the sports car. The low profile Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires and the Forged 3-piece alloy racing rims, 19" in front and 20" in back, show the greatness they want to achieve in the race car appearance. The inside is leather and has racing seatbelts. All the gauges are digital; includes 260 mph speedometer, 8000 rpm tachometer, and horsepower gauge. The audio system is awesome with the navigation screen, ten speakers, DVD player, and back up camera. All these are top of the line just like any other expensive car.

These video show the true sports car in the SSC Ultimate Aero. The speed the appearance. It looks like it will be fast. It doesn't even matter that it has 1183 hp. When someone looks at this car they just say "damn" I bet that is fast. If there wasn't the power in this car like there is, then it would be the biggest illusion. This video is to show the core power.

What's going to be your NEXT mod?

So, you’ve put the high-end sound system in your car (your subs, components, tweeters, etc), you’ve been heard coming down the road a mile away, and you’ve impressed many of the kids who do not have cars yet. Nice job, but wait, you’re still not satisfied? Fair enough, I understand car guys, or girls, like you. You are the type of people who will not stop. Upgrades are things that drive you to build your car to best it can be and the best you want it to be. Here’s an upgrade that you may want to be careful of though: putting an air intake into a car that’s not even fast. For example, after my subs, I wanted to make my 1997 Nissan Altima GXE faster! Now, it seemed like the coolest thing in the world at the time, but now that I think about it, I realize how much money I really wasted in attempting to install one. The first mistake I did was go to Ebay, then I bought the cheapest air intake I could find for $40 ($11.25 for shipping), because I was a 16-year-old teenager on a budget. The second mistake I did was to think that, with my 0% knowledge of car engines, I could install it myself.

So, with my new intake, 0% knowledge of car engines and how they work, and cheap hand-me-down tools, I went to work. I first took out the factory intake making sure I had all the parts labeled and knew where they went back into the engine (if I needed to put them back for some reason). Then, I proceeded to put the new air intake in, but I couldn’t figure out what all the holes in it were for. So, I basically took an educated guess, and actually got it right for the most part. Turns out the hoses that were connected to the factory intake just plugged right into the new intake. After I reconnected all of the hoses to the new intake I went to start the car. It had actually worked, for about 5 seconds, until it died. So I trouble shot the problem and found out I had forgotten to put a bolt on that was causing air to leak out (which ended up causing the computer to read low air and could not combine enough gas and air to keep the engine running).

After all that, I finally got it to start and remain started but the idle was still very low. Idle is when you start your car and your engine just runs but you're in park so the needle should be at about 1,000 rpm (which is normal) but my car was idle was about 500 rpm (which is bad). “This can’t stay like this,” I said to myself. So I took it over to a little shop nearby, which cost me $85 for a diagnostic fee, and they told me that they didn’t even know what was wrong with it but that they would go ahead and put the factory one back on (this ran me another $45 for labor!). As I drove back home, with my factory intake, I pondered on what all I had accomplished with this install:

$40 – New Air Intake
$11.25 – Shipping of New Air Intake
$85 – Diagnostic Fee
+ $45 – Labor Fee
------------------------------------------
$181.25 – Wasted Weekend and the same thing I started with

As you may be able to tell, this was definitely not worth the time or the money. But on a positive note, if you know somebody or actually know how to install these systems in your car, by all means go right ahead (It is actually pretty cool once it truly works properly). Now I know I said not to install on slow cars that may be called “ricers,” in a sense, but this is your car not mine. I just didn’t know what I was doing and it wasn’t like I had a great car to begin with anyways. But if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me because I have been through it all and I know what to expect. Hopefully you have gained some knowledge from this and hope all your future or current projects and upgrades go well.

Middle-Class Muscle

Back in the day, to have a fast car you either had to have money to spend on the extra speed, or be a tuner and do mods at home that required a lot of skill. As the price of automotive technology goes down, so do the prices of cars that contain it. This resulted in cars that were in the range of an average buyer, and had a lot of power behind the accelerator. These are a few of the options that are affordable, yet still provide a rush of speed for the driver. You can pick up any of these cars for under $40,000.

2009 Subaru STI- The STI is a solid choice for anyone looking to win a street race. For years Subaru has continued to deliver a solid product that is amazing. What more could you want... a sports car that you could use to help u move. It's a hatchback, but don't confuse it with a station wagon. The STI has an above 300 horsepower, turbocharged engine. It has all-wheel drive so that you can drive this car all year, not just in the summer. The exterior is sleek, and has an extremly aggressive forward stance. The STI has a functional hoodscoop and 18 inch rims. The entire car is built for performance, but you don't have to sacrafice not driving it when conditions aren't favorable.

2008 Lancer Evolution- The Evo is another great choice for a buyer looking for something fast, but not sacrificing daily driveability. Mitsubishi isn't known for making terribly reliable products, but the Evo seems to be an exception. The Evo features an inline 4, turbocharged engine that makes just under 300 horsepower. This makes it a little slower, then the STI, but what it lacks in power it makes up for in handling. The Evo is typically used by drivers who autocross, so the quick acceleration, the powerful brakes, and the effortless steering does well in competition. The Evo is definitly a solid choice for anyone looking to buy a performance machine.

2009 Audi A4 Quattro- The A4 is a car that Audi has always done well on. This vehicle has seen many differant body styles, but the 2009 body is by far one of the best. Audi did away with a lot of the bubbly styling and incorporated sleek panels and aggressive lines. Unlike the previous two cars, the A4 does not incorporate forced induction into its engine plan. Instead, the A4 has a powerful V6 engine that gives it 265 horsepower; a lot for a car with no turbocharger. Like the other two, the A4 has all wheel drive so no matter how the roads are, you can rest assured your A4 will get you there. Audi also has one of the best records for bulding safe cars, with high crash-test rating on all models. If your looking for something with a little less power, but impecable styling and class, the A4 is a great choice.

2009 Pontiac G8- In 2008 Pontiac introduced a new model- the G8. It boasts a six liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower- a massive amount. Its a sedan, which means that its practical for everday use. The G8 is a great choice for anyone looking to have a ton of power under the hood. Two hoodscoops allow other drivers to realize that your not playing around when you bring this out. The G8 is definitly Pontiacs way of appealing to people looking for something fast, yet practical.

Concept Semi-Trucks?

Everybody these days, especially in the car world, is focusing on concept cars. Cars that will maybe one day come into production and be more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly than their predecessors. But have you ever heard of a concept semi-truck? I was watching the Discovery Channel one afternoon and a unique show came on. It showcased a famous car designer named Luigi Colani who has built many conceptual vehicles in his time, one being the future semi-truck. The semi-truck amazed me and I could not help myself from keeping my eyes fixed on the screen. The overall design was the same, where you had a cabin, where the driver operated the truck, and then the trailer that was connected to the cabin. But both parts of the truck had their own unique styling to them. Starting with the cabin, the windshield had a giant circle with three wiper blades that seemed to spin in a circle instead of swiping side to side like in most cars and trucks. The cabin seemed to hang over its support that was connecting it to the chassis. Now moving onto the trailer, which looked like a farm silo tipped on its side and lay on a flatbed truck, it had smooth lines and you knew it was made for aerodynamics. But what about the numbers you may ask? Colani’s first version of the future semi-truck reduced fuel consumption by 25 percent. Colani discovered that when a semi-truck reaches 50 mph or more the drag effect starts to play a role in fuel efficiency. With the addition of the smooth and curvy lines, the new version of the concept semi-truck, designed in 2007, reduced fuel consumption by 50 percent and this was purely by aerodynamics, not engine modifications. If these trucks are so great then why aren’t they on the road already? All I can say is cost, cost, and cost. The first versions of Colani’s semi-trucks were in upwards of $1 million. He later reduced many of the designs to about $100,000 but that is still an unmarketable price. Without a marketable price, truck companies will not even think about purchasing these streamlining future trucks to use as their main source of transporting their customer’s goods. One day we will see Colani’s vision of more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly semi-trucks drive past us and think nothing of it as we watch our favorite movie on our long awaited road-trip. It is good to know that people are expanding the green initiative to other subjects and not just cars because after all they’re not the only ones that use gas around here.

Off-Roading, a whole new kind of fun...

Have you ever been "muddin"? Going off-roading in a Jeep Wrangler or any type of off-road vehicle can be one of the most enjoyable things you will ever do. It gives you a sense of freedom and puts you out there to do whatever you feel like doing. Personally, I take my Wrangler through my back yard to this farmers property that is not being used after it has been raining or snowing. This will definitely be the best time to go. There is nothing that can hold you back unless you didn't fill up your gas tank. Although your off-road vehicle will work much better with some new parts that are made for the beating, everyone can take a truck out in a field and fool around.

Lifting your vehicle with some heavy duty suspension and shocks will help your car make it through, or right over the top of, some rocks or water holes. Then there are the tires, your tires need to be made for rocks and hard terrain. Bigger tires with deep treads will give you the best traction and control for any kind of terrain. You can also add extra lights for trips at night, just make sure you know the terrain so you don't end up in a pond or rolling down a ravine. Finally, you add things to your car to make the overall appearance look better or cuter for the extreme ladies. There are all kinds of bumpers, guards, wheels, etc. that will make your truck look better than ever.

These photos and video are from an adventure I had this past winter. There are plenty of things you can do in a nice sports car but there is nothing like having nice off-road adventure. Once we all become rich successful people, we might as well get both types of cars and trucks.

It's A Duesy!

Duesenberg Automobile & Motors Company was founded in 1913 by two brothers named Fred and August Duesenberg. At first, the Duesenbergs set out to make sport cars that would race in many known races such as the Indianapolis 500 and the French Grand Prix. Their first “mass-produced” car was the Model A. Unfortunately only 667 were made due to the fact that they were highly sophisticated using complex engine systems such as dual overhead camshafts and four-valve cylinder heads and many people could not afford them or understand them at that fact. Another car named Model X, introduced soon after the Model A in 1927, was one of the rarest cars ever built by the Duesenbergs. This was due to the fact that the Duesenberg Company had just put the Model X in production when the company was sold to a well known transportation firm owner named E.L. Cord. He demanded that production be stopped immediately so that they could begin working on high-class luxury vehicles; only 13 Model X’s were ever made. Their first production vehicle together was the Model J. When it was first debuted at the New York Car Show of 1928, it produced 265 horsepower and was capable of reaching a top speed of 119 mph. That’s more powerful and faster than my car now! It also had a supercharged version called the Model SJ that had a top speed of about 130 -140 mph and 0-60 mph times around 8 seconds. The Model J along with other models usually ran from about $13,500 - $25,000 depending on what model, engine type, and features. With that the Duesenberg was off and running. They reached extreme popularity mainly with their high performance and high class engines and mainly among the rich and famous personnel. Many Duesenbergs were made between 1928 and 1937 but production ceased in 1937 after Cord's financial empire collapsed. Many later attempts, after World War II, made by August Duesenberg, to revive the company failed. To end this story on a good note though, Duesenbergs are one of the most popular classic cars in the world. At any given auction, on a normal bid, a Duesenberg will mostly like reach over $1 million, some even go for multimillion figures. Duesenbergs were the classiest cars of their time and the famous phrase “It’s a Duesy” doesn’t just mean something is easy or simple but also is a way of remembering one of the most simple but extraordinary vehicles of the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Who's laughing now...

When electric cars were first introduced it was almost a joke. No one believed that it would ever be practical to buy a battery powered vehicle instead of a car that runs on gas. They also had very awkward designs, like the car wasn't supposed to look that way. With four dollar a gallon gas, people have opened up their minds a little more to the idea that fossil fuels may be on the way out. Drivers don't laugh at electric cars as much now as they wonder about them.

How reliable is it?
How safe is it?
How much more are repairs?
How much is it going to cost?
Is it going to make me look stupid?

A company called Tesla Motors answered all of these questions. Tesla has designed a consumer vehicle that is strictly electric powered. This car gets over 240 miles per charge and gets to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. It's a consumer car, which means it as to be affordable, with an asking price of just under 100,000 dollars. That's the price of a new Porsche so it's not outrageous, just expensive. The design is impressive... it looks just like a sports car. You would never guess that the car is powered by batteries. The Tesla roadster is fast... scary fast. It has a two speed transmission; forwards and backwards. This is a quote from the Tesla Motors website:
"How powerful is the acceleration? A quick story to illustrate. A favorite trick here at Tesla Motors is to invite a passenger along and ask him to turn on the radio. At the precise moment we ask, we accelerate. Our passenger simply can't sit forward enough to reach the dials. But who needs music when you're experiencing such a symphony of motion. "

While the above average dollar asking price is still pricey, the cost will come down. The technology is brand new, and the demand is high. Tesla Motors can charge a lot and still have a lot of customers because of the quality of their product. Skeptics should remember how much pc's used to cost, and look how that turned out... If your looking to buy a car and have a little extra change, this might be a smart investment. While I can't guarantee that driving an electric car will improve you street cred, it will definitely make you one of the fastest drivers on the street.

This is a promotional video for the Tesla Roadster.

Top 10 Fastest Cars in the World

If only we could afford the fastest cars in the world; wouldn't we all be happier with the power at our feet. The world's fastest cars end up being some of the most expensive cars in the world. Although there is always the souped up cars that can out-run and beat the exspensive BMW's and the other exspensive supposedly fast sports cars. There is no way that these souped up cars will be able to beat the number one fastest car with 1183 hp; let alone the number ten world's fastes car. These cars have been built for speed and racing. They will definitely turn heads when they are just driving along on the roads but they will be a blur to see in a street race or in any race against another car.

#1 SSC Ultimate Aero

The fastest car in the world is the SSC Ultimate Aero. It has 1183 hp and a top speed of 257 plus mph. With its twin turbo V8, it can go 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. The base price is $654,400 and is the Guinness World record holder as the fastest car in the world, beating the Bugatti Veyron. I wouldn't plan on going over speed bumps or going up your driveway.

#2 Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron has 1001 hp and goes 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. With the highest price tag of $1,444,000, it ranks second and has a narrow W16 high-performance engine. It reaches up to 253 plus mph.

#3 Koenigsegg CCX
The Koenigsegg CCX is made in Sweden and has a V8 engine with 806 hp and can reach up to 250 mph. The base price is $695,000 and can reach 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. This car is expected to take the #1 spot in the future.

#4 Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo

The Saleen S7 is $555,000 and has a twin-turbo V8 with 750 hp. It reaches up to 248 mph and a recorded time of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Your friends are definitely want a ride in the bad-ass ride.

#5 McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 is $970,000 and has a V12 engine with 627 hp. It can go at least 240 mph and can go 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

#6 Ferrari Enzo

So you won the lottery...

Everyone dreams of that winning lottery ticket, but what would you do with it? On the top of many people's lists is to buy that dream car. So what do you choose? Here are some of the new options for your new found wealth.

Maybach 62s- When people talk about luxury cars, Maybach is a brand that is usually a part of the conversation. Maybachs are the epitome of luxery sedans and are frequently owned by super rich business executives. The base model of the 62 series starts at $386,500, but for your endless pocketbook, the $426,000 for the S model shouldn't be an issue. The interior is made so that you can catch a nap, or have a meeting while your driver ferries you around. The 6 liter V12 with 604 horsepower should be everything you need to take you to your next appointment... Or just to the mall. Either way, you'll arrive in style.

Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang- Only the super rich can even think about buying this luxury coupe. The Pur Sang is the more exspensive of the two Veyrons available, the base model starting at a cool $1,500,000. I'll start with the engine... the famous W16. The eight liter, sixteen cylinder engine has four seperate turbochargers that give it 1001 horsepower. This car is built to go fast, and has a top speed of over 250 mph. The interior is full of the most exspensive leather and trim and is suprisingly spacious for a sports car. If the $2,065,902 isn't a factor for you, make sure you can pay for gas too. The Bugatti Veyron gets eight miles to the gallon during normal driving, and can only be driven for about 10 minutes while driving at top speeds before it runs out of fuel. The price is definitly worth owning the fastest car on the road, even if you have to make up reasons to go 200 mph...

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren- This is an absolute supercar. Over 500 hp comes with a hefty $500,000 price tag. A beefy V8 delivers 617 horsepower and 575 ft-lbs of torque. The
Mclaren can double as a race car, but could actually be controlled inside normal speed limits, unlike many cars with it's performance. The interior comes decked out in all sorts of expensive leather and trim. Signature butterfly doors signal to onlookers that your driving the SLR Mclaren, not just a run of the mill Mercedes.

Whether your looking to spend your new found riches on something comfortable, something fast, or something drivable, its all here. Just make sure you save some money to pay for the speeding tickets your sure to acquire.
